IRISH LIVE NIGHT - TUES 5 March 2013

A Paddy’s Session

In this month of St. Patrick's Day, our Live Night session has an Irish theme.

WicklowTrad will feature local musicians, many of whom are All-Ireland champions, all of whom combine to provide an evening of lively music, song and dance. They're young, energetic, and play trad music in a way that has an appeal way beyond the trad music scene.

You will also hear some of the best of Irish poetry written by the likes of Yeats and Kavanagh and some sean nos singing and dancing that will make Wicklow Sailing Club rock. Check out details of WicklowTrad and their regular sessions in Wicklow Town at www.WicklowTrad.com and Facebook.com/WicklowTrad.

Seamus Byrne, known as Brother Seamus, is a composer and performer and tours internationally giving celtic music concerts and sharing a gentle, profound spirituality. Seamus plays Irish Flute, Whistles, Apache Spirit Flute and Bodhrán and sings in the beautiful, melodic Irish style, a style that is a healing balm for listeners. His various CDs can be purchased at www.brotherseamus.ie

Breffni Carroll lives in Wicklow Town. He plays the guitar and tin whistle and is a lover of Irish music. We welcome him back to the Space Inside and look forward to hearing him play once again.

The evening will also feature a selection of favourite poems by Irish poets including Kavanagh and Yeats.
